Refinished Vintage Chair

I found this cute vintage chair that would go great with a vanity I just painted. I wanted to be able to match it exactly, so they could be a set! It can be tricky bringing different pieces together, but in the end they look like a matching set. Here's how I did that.

The bones of the chair were great but it needed love. I first took the seat off and gave it a good clean.

I then applied two coats of Annie Sloan’s old white chalk paint and two coats of clear wax for protection.

I removed the material off of the old seat and recovered it using some really soft left over material I already had and the existing padding. I used a staple gun to secure the material tightly to the seat pulling tight so it wouldn't be not bumpy. Then I just screwed the seat back in using the 4 existing screws.

Now they are a great set! A perfect match! If you'd like to see my vanity makeover, check out my latest post- http://www.hometalk.com/diy/bedroom/furniture...
