We found a non-functional retro stereo cabinet for free on Craigslist. My husband stripped the components, speakers, and lots of gross old insulation out & then we retro fitted it with wine racks and some hidden storage. We sanded it down, filled the cracks & scrapes with wood putty & painted the whole thing Behr's Cathedral. The entire project cost $41 (not including the wine). Check out all the details (including a cost breakdown) on my blog! http://thissarahloves.wordpress.com/2013/07/23/furniture-fix-up-retro-stereo-to-wine-buffet/
