Taking a break from fall and sharing a simple and easy DIY that many think is too daunting of a task to take on. But these chairs have a secret. There's no special expertise, experience or hacks to reupholstering simple chairs and today I can't wait to show you how! Oh, and did I mention that each chair cost me less than $2 to reupholster!
Step 1: Remove your chair seat and then remove the staples holding existing fabric. The chair seat should come off of the chair by removing a few screws. Then remove the staples using pointed pliers or a professional staple remover. I've linked all the products on my blog here.
Step 2: Lay your fabric right side down with the chair seat right side down on top of your fabric and center your fabric. This step is important as you need to make sure the pattern is lined up just how you'll want it.
I used linen napkins at $1.60 a piece per napkin. You can see where I purchased those here as well as a few other color options.
Step 3: Staple! Staple as close to the fabric edge as possible so that no fabric hangs down from underneath. Make sure to pull the fabric tight while you do this. Use one hand to staple and one to pull fabric taught or you can use pliers to assist with pulling tight.
Step 4: Reinstall seat to chair by reinserting screws. I timed myself on each chair and it never took more than 13 minutes per chair! That's less than an hour for an entire set of 4!

What a transformation! And now the chairs will match my freshly painted kitchen. I'd say that was an hour well spent!
