Solid Mahogany Table Refinish

2 Materials
4 Hours

This table refinish is inspiring because many people get rid of “brown” furniture. Solid wood in particular is so beautiful because of the woods natural beauty! Read ahead to check it out

The last and final step is to stain. You stain, sand, clean, then seal. I use a poly to seal that way there is a hard waterproof durable finish. This is preferred to wax because it’s not necessary to reapply every six months.

After sanding we used crud cutter. This is a deglosser and is used to clean up without leaving a residue or film behind. If you use this, there is no need to clean after .

I fortunately , after cleaning a drink was placed on the table so used soap and water to clean up again. It’s important once this step is done to let it dry completely

This is the original finish of the table . Although it had a wood top we thought we may have to replace it. After sanding we realized the veneer top was still in excellent condition. We sanded it down with high grit sand paper until the top was smooth. It’s important to note if you continue to sand you will go through the veneer which is a thin sheet of wood .

Beautiful veneer on the table. You did this table justice not painting it. Amazing save and job. Some people would have painted the base and apron leaving the top natural wood.
