Thrifted Chair Update

I saw this cute chair sitting in a neighbors lawn and it was marked ‘free’. I snagged it up and decided it would be perfect for my daughters new room.

After removing the seat, I cleaned the chair well to remove any dirt, dust, Or grime.

Once the chair was dry after cleaning, I gave the chair 2 coats of this enamel paint to act as a primer.

Next I gave the chair two coats of this French Cream paint.

This is the chair after the first coat.

While the chair dried I started to reupholster the seat.

(fair warning.. this is my first time doing this, so my execution isn’t the best 😂)

Using a staple gun I secured the fabric around the chair pulling it as tight as I could. I am obviously no pro, but this worked well for me.

The fabric I used is from hobby lobby and I found it in the outdoor fabrics which are heavy duty.

Finally, I placed the cushioned seat back in place and reattached it with the screws that held it in place previously.

So incredibly simple with a big impact. I am in love with this chair now! So happy with my little trash to treasure project.

Looks much better. There are tons of videos on YouTube showing step by step how to upholster seat cushions.
