Turn An Old Metal Cabinet Into An Industrial Style Piece For Your Home

Any time I find a piece that is small and has a lot of storage, I have to bring it home. This metal cabinet had so many little drawers and all of the label handles were still on it (we removed one before I took before photos) so I just had to bring it home and breathe new life into it.
The metal cabinet had some rust on it, but it didn't scare me away. It was basically just surface level rust and nothing that was so deep there were holes in the metal.
To start the makeover, I sanded the rusted spots with 400 grit sandpaper. This made the metal surface smooth and even with the rest of the piece.
Once we got the sanding done, we removed all of the label handles from the drawers.
I really wanted a certain paint color on the metal cabinet and knew I wouldn't find it in the spray can aisle. Instead, I decided to try something I have never tried before.
I mixed {aff} "Bayberry" colored paint from Fusion Mineral Paint with {aff} Metal Bond From Latex Agent and it made the mineral paint stick to the metal!!!!
I used my HomeRight Paint Sprayer to ensure an even layer of the paint was going on the metal cabinet. The paint mixture and the paint sprayer is what made this cabinet turn out so well.
I spray painted all of the label handles with black spray paint and put them back on the cabinet.
I love this way this old cabinet turned out and it has found a permanent home in my home office!
