Kitchen Makeover

4 Materials
Medium
This is a kitchen makeover from the counter, and the back splash, to the cabinets.
Step one was to paint above the cabinets and the back splash in a light gray color.
Step 2 was to stencil the back splash. I had this stencil from when I used it in my daughter's room. I had to cut it in half so it would work better.
Step three was to paint the kitchen counter! I used a Kitchen Counter Kit
from Heirloom Traditions!
Step four: Paint the kitchen cabinets and change out the knobs and clean the hardware.
Before and After.
It was a lot of work because I just got back into the work force and only worked on it when I could or felt like it. Painting the cabinets took months because I could only do two doors at a time inside. We get a lot of wind so everything had to be painted indoors.

The stenciling was easy after I cut it in half.

The kitchen counters were patched where the cracks were and then I used the kit from Heirloom Traditions! That was a hassle to use and I ended up having to use a product from Rustoleum to put on top of the counters to seal it because the kit didn't work well.
After having them done for a while now, I love them, but have had to baby it along when ever there was water or heat.
Another thing is do not leave fruit on them, it destroys the paint and leaves a nice brown patch. Live and learn.

I still have to finish the windows and paint the ceiling but pretty much done.

End result is so much brighter and I do love it!

i freaked out when i saw you kitchen..our layput is EXACTLY THE SAME.... so many cabinets and drawers!! my drawers are lined all around the top of my bottom cabinets though and just one line going down beside the stove...i so want white like you did..but i want to do the bottom a darkish gray..my counter tops are white and thought about doing a gray and white stone spray that rustoleum has and then of course a polyurethane coat or two...also where your cabinets stop on the wall before the window i have a cabinet there and three more on the other side of the window...i was thinking of doing the open shelves there but as I cant stay organized that scares me..lol..your input would be greatly appreciated..love what you did..beautiful farmhouse kitchen..i am envious ..great job, i know it is hard work

    • Hey Margie, sorry it took so long to respond, just getting this message. Thank you for the reply. I love what you want to do with the gray and white cabinets, I think it is a great idea. Love the idea also with the White stone spray for your counter tops. I also love the concept of open shelving but I am messy too and not everything matches so I decided to leave that option out but it is a wonderful option that I love and you should too if that is what you want. I would love to see before pics and if you have any more questions let me know. Thanks again for the positive reply.
