We’ve lived here for 10 years now and through time we’ve changed styles and color palettes. The living room and dining room are done! Now it’s time to tackle the kitchen! Let’s take a look!

My home is pretty traditional, dark woods etc… I wanted a fresh new look by adding bright colors and a coastal/boho vibe!

Here is how it looked before. It is lovely, but again I’m tying it all in with the rest of the spaces.

I took all of the cabinets off with a screwdriver. Cleaned them all very thoroughly with TSP cleaning product. You can find it in any hardware store, but I got mine on Amazon.

I just left everything in the cabinets as they weren’t in the way. I painted all of the cabinets with a foam roller. You can find these at the Home Depot.

I didn’t want them to be high gloss, so I used chalk paint and eventually waxed them all down.

I debated using white, but still had the counter tops, so I decided on a creamy color, keeping a warm tone to fit. Below is the recipe I used for my chalk paint. I used a regular latex paint and calcium carbonate recipe.

After spray painting all of the doors outside with my critter paint gun, I sanded each door with a sand block to make them nice and smooth, then dusted them off and waxed them all with johnson’s wax found at Home Depot.

It took me about 2 whole days to finish.

I really love the fresh new look. It feels much more spacious now! The power of paint!

It was definitely a lot of work but definitely worth it. Now everything is cohesive and we love how it looks.

I decided to put the original hardware back on as they can be expensive plus they look great now!

I debated painting the granite countertops but would rather do a different type of countertop later on.

We have since moved this table into the dining room and just finished a smaller one this week, I’ll post when I have a new picture available.

Before & after

we love our new look! It’s fresh and a little more up-to-date. Now to do the floors!! As always, thank you for stopping by.

Here is our new table. I actually spray painted my chairs as I’ve had them for years and wanted a new fresh look! My husband added this gorgeous wood plank top to a thrift store find table. My gorgeous hydrangeas and pampas grass are from my garden! Thanks again for stopping by! Have a great day!
