The kitchen was in dire need of renovation. Water damage, old particle board subfloor, and cheap stock cabinets that were falling apart were all issues that needed to be fixed. In the process, I wanted everything to be convenient (no more fighting with deep base cabinets to find that one thing).
The refrigerator was originally left of the stove. Moving it across the room created a very large work area to the left of the stove.Replacing the pantry cabinet that was to the right of the stove with very large pull out drawers created great storage for plastics, mixing bowls and casserole dishes that are now easy to access and additional counter space.
Base corner cabinet left of the stove has a half shelf for easy access. Pots and pans are suspended from cleats beneath the cabinets. Small racks behind the pots hold the lids. (Gives the kitchen an industrial look).
Left of the sink is an "L" wall of cabinets. Only 12" deep makes it a great appliance cabinet.
The back half of the "L" wall houses 2 liquor cabinets, a wine rack, glass storage, and a large cabinet in the corner that stores wine making and cheese making equipment. At the other end of the "L" is a cabinet facing out which houses a bread drawer, 2 open shelves for cookbooks and a cake plate. It is topped with a handmade butcher block top made from leftover pieces of poplar.
