This is the last part of our Kitchen Renovation, we decided to replace the Floor and add a few new cabinets. We bought the house in 2008, as a HUD HOUSE, so you all can imagine what we've went through !!!!! It was Built in 1925 Squeaky floors a nasty basement and tons of work had to be done. I posted a few pictures on Facebook of the process. Before we moved in we gutted the whole house, and updated almost everything. This was the rest of the old Kitchen cabinets we replaced and the second tome for the Floor. We had replaced the kitchen floor, but it was so squishy, the other floor we put in just didn't hold up. this is A picture of the kitchen when we bought the house.
LAST PART OF KITCHEN RENOVATION
This is the Kitchen when we got the house, we kept these cabinets and I painted them just to freshen them up. The windows in the kitchen had wood molding old and painted. Thats the next Picture you will see not the greatest of clarity. Because back then good pictures were hard to take.
This is a picture of the windows that are now on each side of my Brand New Stove we also added. This kitchen was old and ratty, couldn't believe how bad honestly. The stove used to be on the other side of the kitchen on a solid wall next to that end cabinet you see in the picture above. So in order to make this 7' wide X 17 ' Long kitchen feel like We weren't in a cave . My husband cut a opening in the wall that is adjacent to the Dinning room. This made the kitchen part of the whole house. Because at one time in this houses life. The kitchen once was a porch.
This is the picture of the counter extension and the opening we cut into the wall. This is where the stove used to be when the people owned it before us. This was a HUGE IMPROVEMENT cutting this opening in the wall. We had a raised counter extension and did all the ceramic back splash back when we added the new counter and the 4 other cabinets. 2 cabinets under the counter, and one on either side of the stove. The next picture is of all the holdings around the windows, We replaced with all clear pine and I stained the wood and we put in Marble Siles to add more to the look.
This is the moldings and Cabinets I spoke about in the above Paragraph. the Hood and cabinet above the new stove we previously had put in. All this was a process, as you all probably know remodeling a kitchen isn't cheap.
This is a Picture of the molding around the window all stained and finished. And My Beautiful New Stove. Just before this my Husband began doing the Floor. He removed the old floor what a chore, and a hilarious mess. Thats the next pictures. Floor process.
Entrance to the kitchen from up the 5 stairs from the mudroom. The next picture is of more of the process.
This is the Major ugly thresh hold leading into the kitchen from the Dinning Room.
Instalation of the sub floor we screwed the subfloor to the floor joists, so as not to have the squishy and squeaks.
Brand New floor Loving it.
This is the finished piece to cover the rounded edge of the top stair lip. And the doorway molding we also ripped out and replaced with new. new picture is of the back wall where the fridge will go. And the new cabinet above that and the new Pantry cabinet.
Wall where the fridge and cabinets will be. And the process of painting the cabinets is the next picture.
This next picture is of the New fridge and the new cabinets before they have been painted.
