To use car wax to make laminate countertops shine, it should be applied in circular motions across a clean countertop and left for around 10 minutes. There is a really good product that is designed for this issue. Rejuvenate Kitchen & Bath Countertop Polish. I would go with something that is designed for kitchen area because you want it to be food safe.
