I need ideas for an opening a window wall between dining and sunroom.

I would like to remove a large window and build a half wall with a bench on the sunroom side and safe open look on dining room side. Maybe a counter or storage on bottom half with wood and metal rods above. Still want light to flow through dining room.

If it is possible, I would rather open it up all the way or wide enough to install a set of French doors.

A picture of it would help.

This sounds like you're basically opening an outside wall into an add on. My contractor did this for me two years ago. It was a big project. First remove the wall covering on both sides and install jack posts (sistered 2x4s) on either end of your proposed opening. Have 3 2x10s laminated together the length of the opening, this is your support for the house. Determine the height of your opening and notch out any in between studs the width of the 2x10 laminated beam. These notches were about halfway through. Also cut out the inside jack posts the width of the laminated beam. Then, with a man on each end with a sledge hammer, place the laminated beam on the inside jack posts, in the notches you made on the studs and taking turns, they hammer the new beam into place until flush with the wall. This pushes the centre 2x4s out as they go. After, they put short little 2x4s in place above to make a new support wall as per code. Then they replaced the dry wall and repaired the floor. This was a massive job. I would suggest a contractor but this is how mine did it. Make sure this is all supported by your foundation underneath. After, you could build your little half wall and bench as you like.

If it's just the light you want then perhaps you could use 'glass bricks', in some or all of the internal wall.
