It looks very cluttered. Putting the same things together helps. Like all bowls stacked together, all glasses together lined up, etc. You have a square white bowl on the top shelf with a bag? in it. Then on the middle shelf you have more of the same white square bowls, put the little ones in the big one together. Stack the white corning bowls together. Get matching baskets for all the paper stuff and put the breads and rolls in a basket. Stack the black pots on the top and middle shelves together if they'll stack. Get a rack for the lids. You get the idea. It'll work and look as pretty as a magazine picture.

I think what it needs is to get rid of all that crap..and reorganize perhaps with color coordinated dishware? Or how about a tension rod and pretty curtain ?

Doors hide a lot but open shelving can be beautiful as well. Without doing anything structurally how about swapping out some of the smaller pieces for some large ones. Cluster all your bowls together and add a few plants to the shelf for some warmth and interest. Minimize what you place on the exposed shelves. I know that’s easy for me to say but maybe repurpose some of the items in different rooms. Step back and have fun with it. Sometimes starting from scratch helps then you see what you really don’t need up there.

Open shelves are all the rage right now. They are just as functional as cabinets. Many options for shelf supports In all price ranges. Shelf depth can vary to your need. If you have wood working tools making your own supports from wood will be the cheapest option. I would choose the easiest items to neatly organize for the open shelves (such as dishes & glasses, mugs) and put the items which are better enclosed behind closed doors. Paint all to match and add contrasting color if you choose to. Good luck! Link attach for open shelf example.

Two ways to organize - either by function or by color. If this was my kitchen, I would throw out anything that hasn't been used in a year. I would also make sure I had one complete set of dishes, etc. and dispose of any extras. After that, I would arrange everything by color to look stylishly organized.

Screw in hooks under the bottom shelf. Hang pots and pans. Also, get a papertowel holder for under the shelf. I imagine you use these every day! I love the previous ideas about baskets and stacking the white bowls etc. Also, check out your pantry. There are all kinds of ideas to maximize usage. Could you use a roll out shelf in a cabinet ? If you could get more stuff in the pantry that would make it easier on you.

First purge all your cabinets of items not used in a year or less then all the items you use only during holidays that take up space, place those in other closets or basement to free up space. The bottom section of the cabinets I would paint them to match the others and paint the shelfs. Remove everything from the shelfs and add canisters and decorative tupperware to store cerals etc.... stock bowls

The fabric or metal cubes that fit into your shelves can act as drawers. I would put anything not breakable into cubes, then organize the rest

Basets and containers are your friend. Love ythe cabinets and open shelving is a current trend:) I would put the things I used every day on the bottom shelf and organized neatly ,then the things i used rarely would go on the top shelf in coordinating pretty baskets, bins or containers.

De-clutter. Group items by type of container and color. ie. stack white plates, and bowls in one area, and your black items in another Can you get a pot rack for hanging your pots? Can you hang the microwave under the shelf area with the white dinnerware stacked above? https://www.brit.co/tips-for-styling-open-shelves/

Let me start with I love the idea of open shelving, it is coming my way too.

Start with a de-cluttering activity, clear the refrigerator of all the stuck on the doors stuff, put away what you don;t need, bag it up, you'll be surprised on how well you can manage without things that are not used everyday. Get matching in color dishes, bowls, & glassware. Pots and pans, storage containers go elsewhere. Hang the paper towels under a shelf.

    Baskets or crates

  • First, uncluttered this kitchen! Only keep what you use. Clear off the fridge. You have base cabinets and some wall cabinets as well as a pantry. That's probably enough storage space for your usable things. Use those shelves for the appliances you have on the counter. Clear your counters so you have working space. If you find you don't need both shelves then remove the top one.

Unless you can purge a lot of stuff then I would look for a place nearby like in a basement or attached garage where you could put a shelving unit to store some of the things that you don't use every day. Aim to clear EVERYTHING except toaster, coffee pot and microwave from the counter tops. Hide away the pots and pans, all plastic containers and spice turntables in the closed cabinets and only store the more attractive things on the shelves, such as the white bowls, glasses and the canisters.

You could nail a 1" x 2" trim board across the front of the shelves to make them look a little nicer. Then paint them white.
