Have fun!
Paint the top ones a lighter colour like a creamy white or pale grey and the use a statement color on the lower cabinets like a forest green, navy, or black. Lighter on the top ones and darker on the bottom. You can do a tone on tone thing which works out quite nicely.
Looks like the countertops are a wood laminate? Add a tile back splash to pull the colors from the cabinet paints. And a nice roman window blind and or curtain to finish things off.

There are so many ideas, it's hard to choose one when we don't really know what interests you. Personally, I would paint them but I'd need to see more of the kitchen to decide what color. I'm going to repaint mine soon using 2 colors - one color for the doors and another for the rest of the area around the doors. My cabinets are white now, but I'm thinking about doing a double gray with the doors the lighter color. We spray painted our hardware when we had the pro's do it in black because we couldn't find new hardware that fit and we like what we have. I'll do that again where the pro's painted over a couple of them [rolling eyes]. These guys could paint - they did most of the rooms in our house, but they really didn't do the cabinets so they would hold up well. I think I can do a better job so I'm going to tackle it once I finish my summer projects.
Good luck!
I ageee on the two tone with darker on the bottom.
Change out the handles if they have any.
Thank you
You can stencil a design on the doors of the cabinets.
