How to remove the bar And the cabinet above it in my kitchen?

The cabinet above the bar goes around a corner ( with a lazy Susan) and is attached to a soffit. I want to remove all of this including the soffit can this be done and would I have to replace the entire ceiling?

The cabinets should just be screwed into the walls, ceiling and each other, so you will have some patch work to do. The only problem with removing a soffit is what you may fond inside it. Sometimes electric, plumbing or hvac ducts are run in them. The only way to know is, open them up and see.

Hi! I would open up the soffit in an inconspicuous spot (in case you need to leave it, so a patch isn't too obvious), and see what's there. If it's empty, you are in luck. If it's something else, like duct work you may want to find out how much it would cost to move.

This is not something I had thought about.
