If inside cabinets are good. 1. Paint, add hardware, and do update back splash. Black, grey are popular now.
You could paint the trim white and add pretty hardware. I used General Finishes paint for my cabinets: http://momhomeguide.com/white-painted-oak-kitchen-cabinets-reveal/
You can paint them all one color or trim in a new contrasting color. You can add wood to the edges and create the shaker cabinet look. Fill holes, sand, prime and paint they will look fantastic with new hardware. I would do ceiling also. Either new monocromatic ceiling panels or drywall. If possible to raise ceiling I would. An example attached to get you started. Rustoleum has kits for painting laminate cabinets or you can go on your own with appropriate supplies and process. Youtube has videos.
Good luck

Paint Doors - Green or Orange and use Stick on Contact or stick on tiles for Splashback. Or Paper the Cabinets with Vinyl Wallpaper of choice and Paint the splashback to match in with one of the colours.
Paint, add hardware, and at the from top of cabinets to ceiling add some crown molding trim to make them look more expensive.
Thanks.
