I wish I knew exactly how my sister did it, but she used metallic silver spray paint, you could leave it stained or paint any color, on and old dresser, put silver casters on it so it could be moved easily, plus the casters raised it higher. She found pretty knobs at a craft store. She put clear glass cutting boards on the top. I was so shocked to find out it was a old dresser to start with. It was so pretty. Unfortunately it didn't have seating. It solved her lack of storage space though in her kitchen. Just use your imagination and go with it. Hope this helps. ๐ป
A friend of mine found a huge old architect's drafting table with a pull out drawer and the top was also hinged and there was a huge storage area about six inches deep the size of the entire surface. It was intended for storing architectural drawings. She put it on casters, painted it, and turned it into a bar. She added some stools. She used the drawer for her silverware and stored seasonal linens and trays in the lift up section. She added a towel bar are the end, put 'S' hooks on it, then hung long handled utensils. It was absolutely fabulous looking!! Most architects now draw plans on a computer so the tables are no longer useful to them. You can pick up one fairly cheap. My friend found hers for $50!
