We can't afford to replace our old laminate countertop. Any suggestions or ideas on how to give it a make-over?

Oh my. Know the feeling but the solution isn't that easy. A friend used the special paint designed for laminate and after following instructions precisely had a good result. Just be prepared for the drying time delay, etc. Good luck.

A kit from Lowe's or Home Depot...paint to cover it and make it look like marble...I haven't try it but would like to in the near future...not liking my orange counter top

@Thank You Debbie Richard I'll check that out. I would imagine we'd have to rough it up to make the paint grab. Interesting.

I think it is Rustoleum that has a kit to re-do the countertops.

There are many countertop restoration kits available at Home Improvements stores.

Before our kitchen renovation I repainted my old laminate counter top with a kit I bought at Walmart. When finished it resembled a rough stone like surface and looked great. However it took 2 full days of allowing 2 coats to dry, but so worth it! Good luck and let your creativity flow with this project!!!!

@Julie Burke, very helpful information, Julie. I'd have to take that into consideration. The kitchen would just about be off limits for two days.

I haven't done it yet, but I appreciate the answers that were given. I didn't realize there was a kit available. Thanks, all!

What about getting a collection of different tiles and tiling over your bench...this can look amazing.
