Hello. You would lay the tile floor first. Then paint your cabinets, next hang them, and last the baseboards. If you are painting the walls you would do this first so you don't get any paint on the new floor or cabinets.

  • Here you go . . . I work from top down if completely gutted. Install new flooring before setting cabinets and appliances.

I would paint the cabinets and baseboards first, then replace your flooring, and paint and install the floor trim molding last.

doing floors first can be easier, but you’ll need to be more careful when painting or cover your floor. You don’t mention what flooring you’re using either? If your using a built in dishwasher you need to do flooring first or make sure your cabinets are designed to make up for the difference in the thickness of your flooring! Normally you have 34 1/2” clearance from the floor to the bottom of your self edge on your counters for a standard dishwasher to fit! Adding a new flooring can be a problem with existing cabinets unless the cabinets can be modified to make up for the extra height of the new flooring! So be sure to take that clearance into account for a built in dishwasher if you have one? You got to have that 34 1/2” clearance foryour dishwasher to slide in under your counter top!

I agree with Naomie, floors should go in before you install cabinets, but you will have to cover them to do the rest of the work.
