LOVE the colors in your backsplash behind the stove. Maybe pick up on the tones there....a cream color would be pretty and keep the kitchen bright.

I think a cream and grey theme would look great!

Taupe would look nice or the walls and a off white for the cabinets, not cream per say as it can play to yellow

White has been the biggest trend and it isn’t going anywhere for a while, but if hat isn’t for you...

darker lower cabinets, even if it’s just a hint darker

what do do you think about these options

    slate blue

    Pastel grey

    dark base with white uppers

for cabinets & wall.... different shades of pale silver... add a paler silver glaze over....it will really bring out the colors in the tile back splash :)

It looks as if your appliances (stove top is white?). If so, I'd go with a silvery grey...probably darker on the bottom, then cut with some pure white, and use on the upper cabinets. The silvery grey will tie in with your stainless steel sink and faucet color and contrast with the browns you're stuck with now. Suggest adding stainless-look handles and knobs on the cabinetry after painting. The back splash is the key, so work from those colors in either a darker or lighter tone or both. It will be beautiful. I share your pain with you comment about not wanting to add to poopy browns!

Go to the store and get paint samples/ color chips. Hold them up to your cabinets, walls, etc. Then see what looks the best to you. Go with a color that you like.

My Initial thought is white cabinets and a gray wall or vise versa. I like mogie5757’s idea of getting samples and chips though.

Super WOW to the slate blue suggestion!

I'd keep the cabinets white. I paint the walls a pale aqua.

I would go with a cream color amd please loose that wood piece above your window.

I like the slate kitchen, but your kitchen doesn't look as big or well lit. If you like that color, you could try the slate on the bottom and a lighter color on the top cabinets. And you could do the wall an even lighter color that you used on the cabinets or white. I really like blues and browns together. Or You could do white cabinets and medium blue walls. Go to the paint store and get a bunch of sample cards. Go home and pick the ones you like when you are in the kitchen. Then tape them where you are going to paint. Go into your kitchen and take notice of the colors in different times of the day and with different kinds of weather (sunny, cloudy, stormy). Remove the cards until there's one left for each place you want to paint.
