2 Materials
Paint the base cabinets, new upper cabinet and shelves, new countertops and appliances and for about $5,000 a brand new kitchen that has the beach and farmhouse feel all in one. Start with a plan and design elements and make it happen.
The beginning, this kitchen has no stove, sitting a block from the beach, maybe no one planned on cooking?
Dark and dreary, step one remove base cabinets doors and drawers and start the process of stripping and sanding.
The countertops need to go, as well as the old appliances, once the upper cabinets were down, sheetrock repair, added a pot filler and cut out the base cabinet for a stove.
I added trim to cabinet doors and trim to the existing cabinet fronts, repurposed hinges adding new pulls, two new upper cabinets, a new sink, and we are on the way.....
Following the a simple farm house look, we added open shelves, simple tile, and new appliances.
Finished and happy to have a kitchen that feels beach friendly, has a relaxed fresh feel and oh so much fun to work in. On to the next project, in St. Augustine Beach, Florida or another Goldfish Mansion.
Suggested materials:
  • Paint   (home depot)
  • Subway tile   (floor and decor)

Fabulous! Love everything about this one. Glad you got a stove! I don't think I've ever heard of a kitchen not having a stove. lol

It's been done with elderly folk when there is a chance they may leave burners on. Like in ECHO housing.
