How can I design a room to double as a laundry room and office?
I moved into a smaller home—downsizing for retirement. The new home has the laundry in the basement. We are moving the laundry onto the main level of the home into a bedroom that will be an office and laundry space. I need ideas for an inconspicuous folding table, hanging clothes and laundry supplies storage. It is a small room. The machines are stackable and will go into the closet. The room contains an L- shaped desk.

Congratulations on your retirement!! I had a very small laundry space in a guest bedroom a few years back. I wish I had pics to share. I used a vintage ladder (hung from the ceiling) as a decorate piece in the room which doubled as a drying rack, baskets in the corner held laundry supplies and our washer and dryers were not stacked so my husband put a wood piece over the top of them to fold. The space was tiny but WORKED. Good luck in your new space! :)
I wish I could have side by side units but the closet is narrow. I love the ladder idea! Thanks!
Mona, I recently watched this house tour. The laundry area is really amazing and extremely compact. I hope you find a good idea or two you can take away from it. I think the laundry is about 4 minutes in if you want to skip. https://youtu.be/LTa9cqioRDY
Is the closet with the stacked washer/dryer wide enough to have a narrow fold down table added inside. or could you build one for the door to the closet itself. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/80217524/?query=BJURSTA&icid=iba|us|unbxdsuggestion|201811132211556208_1https://www.pinterest.com/pin/310889180506529584/
And then I've seen fold down drying racks, maybe add it to the outside of the closet ... https://www.pinterest.com/search/pins/?q=fold%20down%20laundry%20drying%20racks&rs=typed&term_meta[]=fold%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=down%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=laundry%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=drying%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=racks%7Ctyped https://www.pinterest.com/pin/AbJRLX_rATYye6J93-Ly1W6IcBR_9BA1Y_Y29zifNSeJQ8HmwvNnHNA/
