Easy Way to Get the Laundry Folding Task Done
We have a laundry room in the basement. And, our hampers are not the larger ones that you would use because we don't have space in the bedrooms to store them. So, instead, we have a separate set of laundry baskets stored in the basement that we use for clean folded clothing. But, to know who still has their laundry basket in their room, we needed to label them. This is how we labeled the laundry baskets, so we knew who still had theirs in their room. It works pretty well, and we have used this system for many years.
We used 5 laundry baskets and one Sharpie Marker (permanent).
After taking the towels out of the dryer, I fold them and place them into my "Towels and sheets bin." I can finish them up quickly and bring them up while the other clothes are washing.
The clothes are then washed and folded, and placed in the correct basket, and when all the clothes are finished, everyone comes down and takes their bin.
Also, I wrote the labels on the top so that when I separate the laundry baskets, I can easily read who's laundry basket I am placing the clean folded clothes into; yay!
I also labeled the sides so when I get all the laundry baskets back I can see if I am missing any bins.
As the kids got older, they were now sorting and helping with the folding and bringing up the laundry, so the job has gotten a lot easier.
Our laundry baskets needed to be replaced, we started using larger ones I found at the hardware store. I decided to reuse the labeling system, and it still works great! For such a little labeling project, it made a world of difference for my family and me. I hope it helps you too.
