How should I rearrange my utility room?

Most people want the washer and dryer next to each other. Also people prefer gas dryers over electric dryers. Electricity is expensive and an electric dryer uses a lot at 220 volts. You don't say what rooms are on each side of the utility room. I would see if there is a way to expand the laundry room either on the right or left taking some space from the adjacent rooms.

William thank you. Behind utility is the hallway that leads into kitchen and not super wide standard. Behind dryer is the garage area but washer in family room . And I agree and I would need to move water over as well. If it wasn't for my height I would get stackable washer and dryer since these are going to die soon. If you look at wall from family room it butts out for washer so I was thinking of just making rather having it made to expand so it would only butt out the same amount as washer for dryer. This wood put them next to eachother. Yes I have only ever had gas dryer but both contractor and repair man for dryer both said that they have electric due to high price of gas and house is wired for 220 above dryer. I have 5 adults 4 are men taller than me so when they wash it's several of darks then all the rest. We must do at least 30 loads a week so saving money would be nice. I could have gas line moved as well. I have a 5ft tall crawl space. I hope that helps.

I think I've seen every make over its just that none of them are like mine. Since its 2 rooms in compact quarters I just wanted to not have to look at utility closet and I just threw that idea out there hoping for a miracle. One doesn't seem to exist, so thanks to anyone how even looked at this but at this point I'll just deal with it as it is and not bother with it for now. Thanks.

I may not correctly understand your lay out from your description. Would it be possible to build a closet out into the garage to set your w/d in. They could still be accessed from indoors but they would essentially be using up garage space rather than house space.

Thank you so much I will look at it and I was thinking that maybe instead of placing doors by utility side I can place them on laundry side to separate and then just paint room but decorate the laundry side so that when I open doors I can see that and not focus on utility side since it will be painted and left alone. But I will check out website right now to see what or how to smile when I have doors open. My home is built on a slab. I purchased a new three door refridator and I am trying to figure out how to run the water line. It is across from the kitchen sink and on the back wall of the living room.

So I take it you have never had a water line their hum....this is a tuff one you would probably have to go from attic assuming house is one level othwise if 2 story you may need to see because usually to keep cost down they run water line from where kitchen sink is to upstairs bathroom, is that a possibility in your case because a plumber may be able to connect line from upstairs down through wall out into where connection needs to be. I hope that makes sense. So is that a possibility?

Why don't you go ahead and get the stackable. And since your height might be a problem. Buy or make a long narrow storage bench. You can then use the storage bench to store the shoes & use it as your step up bench to reach your washer dryer settings. Posting a picture of the area in question would really be helpful. :)
