Laundry room needs a decorator

Angel Morris on Mar 13, 2015You can use baskets, but if they are all different, it will look just as cluttered. Try dollar stores first to get bins with a uniform look and not spend a lot. I would say no more than three different types. As for the big bottle of detergent, how about a big basket on the floor or a cardboard box covered with a pretty fabric just to hide it? Remember, measure shelves first, width, height and depth. Add a few plants (fake is fine) and a pretty rug. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Stahli Claassen on Mar 14, 2015I agree with the Dollar Tree idea. I got some nice big cheap cardboard boxes from Wally World. They may not work for your area, I am mentioning them so you don't get discouraged if you don't find what you want at the other stores. On the detergent, I use fridge drink dispenser. Once again, I know that that might be too small but keep your mind open when looking in the kitchen dept.! Good luck and have fun with it!Helpful Reply

Loretta Clark on Mar 14, 2015Is your detergent liquid or powder? I'm thinking you could look for a cute or suitable container and make it cute then pour your detergent in. Then it would be an asset while still allowing you to easily access it. One possibility for the shelves is to sew a surround for it. You can make a frame from inexpensive black piping, connect it to the wall (or ceiling) and let the sides hang free so you can get into the sides, plus have a front opening that can drop back in place after you use it. Pick some great material and buy paint and a rug to go with it. I hope this helps.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on Mar 15, 2015Depending on your budget, I would build a cabinet with a door around those shelves. Open as they are, they will still seem cluttery.Helpful Reply
