You could always add something for a folding station! Make shelves below to house your laundry baskets and add rods above for hanging clothes.
I agree with both folding space/basket storage, and hanging space. Depending on your family size and ages, labled bins for each member could be used, as well.
If you put a broom closet in the corner, you could also add a fold down ironing board to the side. (If you do enough ironing to need one.)
I love the idea of a drying rack under the window. You could even incorporate a hanging herb garden if there is enough sun, or frame it up to add space for a grow light to supplement if needed.
One warm and one cool flourescent bulb in a shop light fixture is a budget friendly substitute for more expensive grow lights, and can be rigged to be raised and lowered as seedlings/plants grow, but check what size they come in.
Or if you are replacing windows, consider a greenhouse bump-out. 😀
In any case, choose what works for what you want to dtore, and fits your budget. Simple hooks for brooms and mop, and a few wire shelves and bins for cleaning products can do the job, as easily. If you should want to hide the view from the kitchen, a curtain, or folding or even swinging doors could add privacy. If there is enough clearance and you like the look a sliding barn door could also work.
I would move the washer/dryer closer to the window as that is where your dryer vent is. Put the counter top and bins on the other side of the washer/dryer with uppers. The broom closet seems like a fine idea.
I would also extend lower cabinets or open shelves with counter top along the far wall (to right of w/d). If you have the room why not go for the extra storage or folding space.
I don't imagine she can move her stackables over toward the window because of the water and drain pipes....I would put a folding table with baskets underneath like someone suggested. You could put regular upper cupboards over the table for laundry detergent etc. For your brooms....can you find a ready built two door cabinet made for brooms and long handled things? I have seen them but don't know what they are called. If not that, maybe a carpenter can build one for you.
