I HATE TO HAVE USELESS JUNK !!! I had a very unique VHS display case , made of wrought iron and had wooden knobs on the top . With a sturdy wooden base . I loved the curvy shape . So using stuff that was in the way , I decided to turn it into a floor lamp .
Here is the bottom , I just cleaned the whole display '
Here is the top , There were four wooden pieces , now two were missing
Using wire cutters , I cut the center from the shade
An Aquarium light , low voltage and just the low light I wanted
Slid the light over the top rung of the Stand
secured it with glue
these are battery powered tea lights ;
Using the Glitter paint , I painted the mason jars , let them dry for 2 hours , then baked them in the oven on a foil cover cooky sheet at 250 degrees for 4 hours.let them sit , sprayed them with acrylic sealer . and dried , I put the zip lock lids on the rungs at different levels . Got the jars , Placed the tea lights inside . I can turn them on or leave them off . It turned out pretty I think
Enjoyed the project?

Tim on Sep 08, 2016I like to have a steady low level of light , Anything that you leave plugged in uses electricity , From chargers to irons and lamps , nothing is really ever off unless it is unplugged . So a very low wattage lamp is not only economical , it makes things a little safer and a lot more cozy ! and thank you Hillela !
