Air & Stone seem to go together like fire & paper. AirStone is a beautiful artificial stone product that will allow even the beginner DIY person the opportunity to create a stunning new look !
These stones are hard enough to use as a hammer to drive in a nail so do not be mislead this is a foam like product - it is not.
If you can put icing on a cupcake you can apply the adhesive to the back of the stones. Manufacture instruction to cut these tiles is a hack saw. We used a jig saw. If you can use a serrated knife and cut french bread - you can do this!
There is no "pattern." We literally unwrapped the stones and started putting on adhesive and sticking them on the tile.

Idea came After new carpet!
We hadn't even come across the Airstone option at this point. We eye spied AirStone at Lowes and knew this was perfect! There would be no mortar/cement to contend with! 4 hours later we had this stellar looking fireplace.

Thank you Sandra! It still surprises us how easy it was! On the Airstone website there are so many ideas! Planter, outside walls, kitchen back splash, and one I am considering is a bathroom remodel where I can put the stones on the tub and make a "spa" like feel to the bathroom.
