Can I put stone over a flat tile faced tile fireplace surround?
The fireplace has 18" beige tile and beige grout. The tile and grout are in great shape but not pleasing to look at. Must I demolish it and rebuild or can I put the stone over the tile?

You can put stone right on top!
You could put it over it just prep the surface good with tile glue.
Best to remove the old tile. The added weight can cause both tiles to fall off.
How far will it stick out? What do you plan on doing with the rough ends and top? I think for the best result, that you should remove the old stuff first.
