How about some floating shelves... and one to continue the mantle line... and something to reflect light.

A small square place at an angle would look nice. A table lamp and small plant as well. A mirror placed under the lamp would reflect the light from the lamp when lit.

I personally would not place any thing but a candle sconces on each side ( or two if there’s no place on the opposite side) of the fireplace being the fireplace is that focal point in the room and you don’t want the corner to be that focal point. Adding a mirror will also tie that whole wall together and kirklands and hobby lobby have great items For completing that look.

The plant in the corner looks good there.

Remove the floor lamp and put it in another part of the room.

Add a small end table that is about the same height as the sofa arm. Then add a table lamp.

I would put a hanging medium size lighter colored shade pendant and perhaps make the fireplace wall an accent lighter wall bc the fireplace is darker. If u put a table there use metal like frames or accents on a table that when the light is on will reflect and brighten up the corner. U could even still have a plant there and use a floor uptight that would give some light or ambiance lighting. It all depends if u will need the light for reading or just light. Without seeing the whole fireplace wall it's a little hard to tell. I would definitely lighten up the wall color to start, it seems like the fireplace got lost.

It's me again. I just looked back at the picture and the walls r a lighter paint. I think it's the fireplace bc it is so dark. I would still paint the room a different color or at least find a color to brighten up that wall. Have u thought of maybe white washing the fireplace and painting the room a different color? I would still use a type of pendant light though.
