I found this cute coffee table for just $5 at our local thrift shop. After nearly a year of changing its placement in the house, I finally decided to jazz it up.

We took a boring wooden coffee table and with some leftover chalk paint, a bit of mod podge and some $1 wrapping paper from Michaels, I turned it into something super cute!

Here's what it looked like before. It was pretty, but nothing special. It has wings you can choose to fold down to make the table smaller, or you can keep them open for a round table.

I used chalk paint to make the whole thing white so I could figure out exactly what I wanted to do with it. I had visions in my head of something really colorful and vibrant that would look great for the kids. But I realized quickly that I wanted something cute and whimsical for ME instead!

After painting it , I added some cute polkadot wrapping paper on top with Mod Podge.

I knew the polkadots would be easy to line up, but it was a bit of a hardship getting the excess trimmed properly since the table was curved. The mod podge made the paper wet and sticky, which my scissors didn't like. But we got there in the end!

The end result is so much better than I could have hoped for!
