DIY Pink Ombre Shelf

3 Materials
2 Hours

I recently came across these pictures of this DIY Pink Ombre Shelf that I worked on this past summer. This little bookshelf has been in my family for a long time. I had it when I was a child and passed it along to Scout when she entered this world. It has been painted a few times over the years and was last painted white. I decided to give it a simple, but fun makeover and it turned out lovely.

I first went around and touched up the white paint on the shelf.

I used 3 shades of pink paint for the back of the shelf.

I started by painting the lightest shade of pink on the back of the highest shelf.

Next, I painted the 2nd darkest color on the middle shelf section and the darkest color on the bottom. I painted two coats in each color. I didn’t use painter’s tape, but if you have a hard time staying in lines when painting, I suggest taping around your painting section.

Once the paint was dry, I moved the shelf back into Scout’s bedroom and decorated. I love how the 3 different colors look in the background of this shelf. It’s a fun way to add a pop of color for people who don’t want to go overboard.
