Hall Unit

3 Materials
9 Hours

So a friend of mine asked me would I upcycle this unit for her - it was in her hall & that’s painted white so she wanted a pop of colour & had seen a table I had done in Renfrew blue so that’s what she picked!!!

Filled I used - because it was in the hall her kids would open the door & it would bang off the unit causing damage to the unit!

So I filled them and let it dry!

Sanded it once it was dry!

Using fusion mineral paint in sacred sage for the inside of the drawers & Renfrew blue for the rest!

Drawers been painted!

And so it begins!

So what I learned the last time I used Renfrew is - it’s very translucent- bev from where I buy my paint said if I put another blue underneath it - it won’t need as many coats

except Jenna wanted the same colour I had used already so I just went for 4 coats!!!!!

Second coat

Second coat going on (I think I lost count)

tough coat top coat!

I mix the colour and the top coat together on my last coat!!

Roll it on!!!

Pop the handles back on

Screw in place

Then when I put it back together you could see the grey sides - so I got my frog tape out & worked my magic!!!

Couple of coats later!!!

Drawers finished!!!

And here she is!!!

My friend is totally delighted she took the leap and went for a bold colour!!!!

she loves it!!!

are you a bold or play it safe colour person???
