I found a dish that was big and deep enough to make a plant dish garden at Hobby Lobby so I knew I needed to make a plant stand for it.
I started with the dish and its measurements and found a small table that I could use for the center to build the stand around. I had an old fence section that I talked my brother-in-law to give me so I used it for the stand. I cut the fence apart and placed the pickets around the table after cutting them to 28". I used 12 pickets and the table to start.
I cut a hole in the top and put molding around the edge I added a piece of insulation in the circle to make a snug fit. Then found 4 feet at Lowe's and used liquid nails to attach them to the bottom of the stand. Attached the bottom piece to the stand with the feet below the board.
After attaching all the parts together I painted the sides and I used 2 coats of white paint from WalMart. in semi gloss interior paint.
I painted the top with 5 coats of paint after sanding in between.
