How To Transform Your Furniture Into Farmhouse Style Charm

1 Material
Farmhouse decor is wildly popular this past year and for most of us, transitioning over to a new decor style can be a costly and expensive adventure. Well, I’ve discovered a painless way to use your existing furniture and accent pieces and easily transform them into farmhouse charm.
This is what it looked like before – being over 40, it was worn and torn and its battle marks were bold and out there. I had to erase the reflection of the mirror when I took the photo that’s why it looks blurry.
This post is my entry for the July Fab Furniture Flippin’ Contest and the theme this month is Farmhouse Fun! So, in adhering to this theme, I decided to transition a 40-year-old mirror that had a contemporary look and feel to it – into a farmhouse charming accent piece!
The sponsor for July is The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Co. The Old Fashioned Milk Paint Company provided me with the paint and/or other products for this charming transformation and I’m so grateful that I am able to be a part of it!
Milk Paint is now gaining an even wider usage because it contains only ingredients that are all-natural and will not harm the environment. Their authentic real milk paint is truly a “green paint” that comes in 20 colors.

I also wanted to add a contrasting blue to this mirror to complement this other piece of furniture that I restored and love dearly. The post is called, How To Transform A Battered End Table Into A Decorative Plant Stand. Here’s a picture of the after transformation.
I was able to bring some farmhouse style into my townhouse by creating an area using accented decorative items.
This is my charming farmhouse vignette I created and I’m so thrilled with the results.
This contest is a lot of fun and if you are a blogger/furniture flipper you can join in as well. Just email to info@fabfurnitureflippincontest.com for more information.
I really love how the gold in the table top picks up on the gold in the mirror! Using blue accented accessories, I was able to tie it all together successfully!
