Leftover Trash Into Lego Activity Table

by Highstyle Restyle
I found this solid Maple vintage telephone table curbside. It was hidden beneath of pile of trash but my trained 'trash to treasure' vision kicked in and saw it immediately. LOL
It's hard to tell in the pictures but the table had definitely seen better days. It looked like a dog had gnawed and chewed the legs and the top had several gouges and scratches.
There were so many gnaw marks and gouges, I knew re-staining was out of the question. I realized the size and height was perfect for a Lego activity center. The top was big enough for the 15x15 plate and the second shelf could hold an extra large basket for all the Lego pieces.
I painted it a bright and cheery red and then sealed with polyurethane to make the finish durable for lots of wear and tear.
The basket was exactly the right size for the space. {Thank you Hobby Lobby for always having what I need!}.

Lots of sweet kiddos at a private preschool will now get to enjoy this activity table. I sure love a happy ending, don't you?!
