I've need some sort of organizing for my laundry room for a while and was looking for shelves.
We made a trip in Ikea for some other stuff but didn't found the sturdy shelves that I needed...
On our way out, my husband saw this self unit for $35, I knew it was going to be my first painting project (being inspired by hometalk posts)
I first open all the units and got ready with my materials
I sanded a bit, where it was needed
I decided to go with YELLOW as I wanted so brightness and pop in the room.
They didn't have yellow in the shop so I got while and a yellow colorant
starting to mix the color
I used the whole bottle to get the color I wanted, stille not bright enough but at then end came out really nice on the wood
I started to paint for the first time in my life, I don't think I would have done it if not for the confidence that all hometalkers give by showing the project they've done and make it so simple.
At first I put the unit on the floor and start painting but afterwards I just painted vertically while holding it, this way I was able to do all the sides at once.
I was thinking of doing 2 coats but after one it was fine and I didnt had enough paint and motivation to do it.
I took me longer than I thought and was more difficult and not perfect but I was very proud of myself !!!
After letting it dry for ~24 hours we build it
screwing the screws (ikea is so simple!)
Here is the finish product!
So excited about it , I finally have a place to put all my heavy stuff in the laundry room !!!

Now i have to fill and organize!!!
Thank you Hometalk !!!
