I got this vintage chair for $25 in a Facebook sales group.
After thinking what I wanted to do with it, I decided I wanted to create something completely different. As in bright colored, pattern fabric and silver frame. Here it is before I started removing all the fabric.
I removed the fabric and all the staples.
Then I sprayed paint it. I chose spray as it was my first project ever and I was nervous about messing up the paint part.
I let it dry and coated with a semi gloss finish to protect the paint. And then I did something I quickly learned I should have not done. Wash all the foam in the washer and put it in the dryer. It survived, but there were foam particles all over my washer and dryer. Yeah... not safe for the appliances. When the foam was dry, I proceeded to cut the fabric, as a pattern. Then it was time to start stapling.
I used a simple, cheap stapler. It worked just fine. Just that my hand got tired at times. Here's the chair ready for its final touches.
And finally... here she is! icon

I am also wondering about the piping. Did you make it yourself?

Awesome! Same happened to me. Sort of. I would have loved my parent to keep the living room set we had back then. It was GREAT, Puerto Rican hand made mid century furniture and they gave it away! :-/
