Found this oak take left behind in an apartment my mom had been renting and gave it a make-over.

Step 1:

·        I cleaned it with TSP heavy duty cleaner.

·        Then I sanded the entire piece with my orbital sander.

Step 2: I painted the base with Fusion mineral paint, Azure, 2 coats.

Step 3: I covered the painted base with plastic and used paint stripper to remove the remaining stain on the top.

Then I refinished the top with varathane wood stain in Early Amercian. This was my first time staining, so it didn’t turn out perfectly…but I still liked the outcome. So I then sealed the top with varathane clear semi-gloss finish, 2 coats. (I forgot to take pictures during this process - oops)

Step 4: I sealed the legs and base with Annie Sloan soft clear wax.

Then I added Fat Wax dark patina to make some of the details pop and give it an antique vibe. Originally I used too much, so I used a magic eraser to ‘erase’ some of the wax.

A nice little pop of colour in our Living room J
