How do I choose between microfiber and leather?

Lots of advice on this but what is best for a house to be rented out to students in Cardiff. A new sofa for a fairly large lounge so looking for a 3 piece.Going by a few articles I read, seems microfiber wins, do you agree? https://www.goodhousekeeping.com/home/decorating-ideas/a17492/sofa-buying-may07/ http://www.shop2day.co.uk/furniture/

Yes, I agree. MICROFIBER lasts a long time. Leather is great, but can be torn by students goofing off.

Quite frankly I don't much agree ..I have had many microfiber pieces and have tried many different methods you find here or online and they are not so friendly when it comes to kids and stains from heavy use!! Just my opinion 😉

micro fiber is way less cost than leather, and way easier to sew if any mending needs done.

  • My vote won't help you. I love microfiber but with rowdy students it might rip. Leather is expensive, but may last better. If this is a rental, I would buy cheap Big Lots type furniture and just replace after they move on. Hopefully the rent is enough to offset this annual expense.

Being a grandmother that has had 4 children in college and now have 2 grandsons there, I'd say you show go with microfiber. It holds up fairly well and is cheaper that leather.
