Place Couches around the fire and add a table and chairs for dining too.

Hello, a three sided fireplace is typically used as a divider and not one that is sat around. That being said, however, you could always use swivel chairs near the fireplace on either side. Move the two loungers directly across from the couch and nix the chair in the corner next to the bookcase. Whatever you decide, the fireplace sounds lovely. Good luck.

Put the correct kind of sliders for all the heavy furniture, and move all accessories to another room. If you watch the tv every day, it’s placement is important, too. So have the tv close to or away from the f/p. Once that is decided, place the most comfortable or largest seating in the prime location. Then go for second best. When you have all the seating decided, bring in one table and lamp and decide the optimal position for that table. Try to bring back only the best, most useful pieces of furniture and get rid of or repurpose the rest. With the sliders under the heavy pieces, you can move the furniture around pretty easily. Best wishes ☺️

add two smaller chairs around the fireplace and then a sofa and chair in front of TV make the fireplace a conversation spot

wish I could see the furniture on the right side. Is that wall all window? Do you HAVE to change out the fireplace? Starting conservatively, leave the flat screen where it is ....and the fireplace. This is a beautiful great big room, but it looks like everything is trying to be placed ON the carpet. I would start with turning the carpet lengthways between the TV and fireplace. Place the sofa or largest seating with the back to the right. Open up the arrangement between the two rooms to be a very open concept and better traffic flow. Arrange the recliners on both sides of the end of the carpet closet to the door. It's definitely ok to have the furniture overlap the edge of the area rug or be off of it totally. Right now it looks very cramped and cluttered because it's turned sideways and all on the area rug. I hope this makes sense. Not really seeing the whole room, I don't see the reason for changing the fireplace.

Although you can’t see, there is a dining table to the left of the wood stove and a bar with stools to the right of the stove.

Jennifer, is there some way that you could put the TV to the right of the FP, left of the doors, in front of the Windows on which you would probably have to keep the drapes closed? Put the couch and recliners facing the TV. You would have enough room to have a TV watching area and over by the shelves, you could have a conversation/book reading quiet place. That is a big, beautiful room with room for 2 areas in it. Well, a dozen people, a dozen ideas. 😘

I had actually thought of moving the TV to the other side but my cable connection is on that wall and what would I do with the big empty space that would leave where the TV is now?

We don’t use the wood stove, too much work to get it going and then it heats that room up way too much leaving the rest of the house cold. We want a gas fireplace that is a bit more modern. The one wall shown is all windows and a French double door. I don’t want to limit the access to the French doors as we have a screened in porch we use almost every day. I’ve added another view of the room. Excuse the mess on the bar area in the picture below.

it’s not a big deal to have another cable line run in your house, and you could always put a nice piece of art where the tv is now. More pictures would really be helpful here. In the picture the furniture all looks jammed down near the tv and you have loads of space to move it back a few feet. It doesn’t have to be on the carpet. This room is perfect for an L shaped sectional if you could spring for new furniture.

I have a sofa and loveseat now. They are both fairly new (about 3 yrs old) and very comfortable. I have them in the ‘L’ shape right now with the loveseat facing the TV. i think I’ll try moving all the furniture out, turning the area rug and bring things back in one piece at a time.
