Any chance you could attach a picture so we can better visualize what you're working with?
Gloria, it sounds like it would be best suited to a compartmentalized arrangement. For example, place the sofa about half way in the middle of the room facing the fireplace and TV, coffee table in front and easy chairs on either side of sofa. Go to the opposite end of the living room and create a treadmill/conversation circle or reading nook with your other furniture
Unless your sofa is low, I'd avoid placing it on the window wall. It may better work at an angle, to facilitate t.v. viewing. Can you place a sofa table behind the sofa?
Two chairs with side tables, or a longer table may work between the windows, or as a "reading /t.v. zone, closer to the fireplace.
If this does not work, you may need to move the t.v., but keep the fireplace seating zone.
As Nikki mentioned, a photo would better facilitate any assistance hometalkers have to offer.
