Salvaged Wood Art Deco Style Coffee Table With Hairpin Legs

The table was refurbished from two salvaged pieces of wood that were really damaged, but after a lot of sanding this beautiful design was underneath.
I love the way this table came out! The table was refurbished from two salvaged pieces of wood that were really damaged, but after a lot of sanding this beautiful design was underneath. I stained it with dark walnut and gave it a glossy polyurethane coat.
I joined the two pieces with large dowels. There are about 12 dowels through the center of the table.
Coffee table before, first I drilled and glued the two pieces together. After days of drying I started sanding. Not exactly sure how the table was damaged it, but it seemed like fire damage. After a ton of sanding, this gorgeous grain was revealed.
