We ripped up our wall2wall carpet bc of pet stains and urine order. We're down to the subfloor. What kind of tile would be best and what size?

I used to work at a flooring store, and I learned something about tile there. The bigger tile you use, makes the room look larger because with bigger tile, there are not so many grout lines chopping up the space. I would recommend and 18" tile for that size room. Basically, the main two types of tile are ceramic and porcelain. Porcelain is a stronger tile and the color goes all the way through, so it is generally a bit more expensive....but it is less likely to chip and crack. It is also weatherproof and can be used outdoors just to give you an idea of its strength.

Any floor tile will work...just cruise thru the Lowe's or Home Depot or Menards tile dept...there's some really nice tile in plank sizes that look like wood floor-- it's really only a matter of what YOU like!! Go with your ideas!!

Thnx for the reply. I failed to say that 1/3 of this room already has a wood floor and the remaining 2/3 with wood would make the room too dark. More ideas?
