Help- contractor did horrible job matching drywall plaster! I want to make whole wall left to right possibly with beadboard, take frame away around tv and enhance the fireplace feature? Also would like mirror away from er bar and do all to blend nicely. I have beadboard cupboard faces and carrerra tops.

Whole wall idea to coordinate - I hate the drywall job the guy did

Same problem we have...too many doors. My opinion..would be to use a barn door and cover the bar...lose the frame around the tv or paint it black to go with the fireplace (but your trim is white also..) add either shutters flanking the tv/fireplace or some wrought iron would look nice. just my opinion. Good luck. (oh and paint the register vent the same as the wall so it blends in like camouflage)

First I would get my money back. Then get peel and stick fake brick. Any color. Put a skinny wall divider , evenly spaced, the width that it is between your door and T.V. on the other side. Match the frame work around the T.V. and fireplace. It will give your room a double room look. The vent on top. Try to match it to the Brick color as close as you can to it. It can be painted. Then I would frame your bar area, the same color as the rest of your frame work.

What are those things on the wall on either side of the area with the mirror behind it? I would take those down. Take the bar out and use that area for storage/bookcase. If you need a bar one on rollers would be nice as you could roll it out when needed only. Take the frame off that surround the tv. Consider some type of wall art with your accent color in it to brighten the room some. Some new throw pillows on the couch with pops of color would help too.

I agree with barn door for bar area. Also if there is any opening behind tv, paint black as well as frame. Will disguise any depth.

Put matching molding around the fireplace and bar. The barn door is great idea for the bar, so is painting the ac register Same color as the wall. Get rid of the two sconces on the wall and find 2 pieces of art that are long and skinny Or don’t have anything there. There is a product out there called Stixwood. Maybe look into that for the walls instead of the bead Board. It has a lot of colors and textures And it’s peel and stick. Easy Peasy.

I would remove the bar like Mog suggested. A bookcase is a great idea or just close it in from the side of the living room and open it on the other side of the wall in the other room. Then put a piece of furniture that matches your other furniture there. If there aren't doors on the doorways, remove the jams, sheetrock and paint it. Then you can get rid of the light switch, too. I would also remove the trim around the tv. It makes it really stand out. Paint the alcove that the tv is in the same color as the wall. To define the tv and fireplace area, you could put up a tile or stone on that part of the wall. You can get stone tile mosaics in sheets of 12x12. some don't need grout either. You can finish the edge with Schluter.

First picture is a light color stone, second is side view of Schluter, third is Schluter around fireplace, fourth is front view of Schluter (it just about disappears) and fifth is the whole side of fireplace (you can't even notice Schluter but it gives a clean finished look).
