You could create a gallery wall with artwork of family photos. There's some great ideas on Hometalk: http://www.hometalk.com/search/posts?filter=gallery%20wall

Make it a collage of things you like and love. A wall gallery of sorts. I have a very long wall in my living room and I did a collage of all sorts of things I like.

If you're handy with a paint brush, you could do an abstract on a large canvas. A large charcoal, pastel, or painting on a large canvas would also look nice if you draw or sketch. Another idea would be to make a lay out on the floor of items you collect, they don't have to be identical or even the same size, and hang them on the empty wall. Make that wall an accent wall with a color that really pops! A large wreath would be nice. You could put floating shelves up and change your decor anytime you like. I've seen living walls done, just be sure you have enough sunlight and a way to "recycle" the water or your wall and flooring will be ruined. Hang a large mirror or tapestry on it. The possibilities are truly endless! Have fun and please update with pictures when you decide what you're going to do.

Wow! Thank you for all of the awesome ideas...now I have to choose lol. We have a rustic industrial look so maybe the floating shelves will work. Thank you! And I'll post pics🤗

I love plaster wall stencils for the texture you get...can be painted any way you want....google plaster wall stencils....or use sheet rock mud and notched trowel to create swirl patterns...or use a nail in the wall-attach a sting and pencil-create a large circle.....shorten the string a couple inches for another circle...keep repeating until you get a bullseye effect...paint rings in vibrant colors
