Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of art created at school and at home by the kiddos? I have one that expects me to keep it all. Our contributor, Emily from Table & Hearth created the perfect board to give the kids a sense of satisfaction at seeing their hard work proudly displayed.
To make sure our kids feel like we appreciate all they create and yet maintaining some sort of order, this board will add a touch of farmhouse fun while giving them a place to showcase their latest art. Be sure to watch the video for all the tips and tricks since we can only give a brief overview here.
Lay out your boards side by side and place sheet metal in center. Use a carpenter square to mark the lengths of your boards. Trace around edge of metal.
Use a saw to cut the boards to length.
Drill pocket holes and attach boards together using pocket hole screws.
Measuring 2 inches in from where you traced the metal piece, cut out center of boards with a jigsaw. Sand the piece well to protect those little fingers.
Use construction adhesive to attach metal to back side of wood display board, centering over hole. Clamp around all edges and allow to dry.
Hang your awesome creation on the wall and let the kids display away. This would also be a great addition to any room to display photos, letters, etc. What would you display?
