How to Make an Embroidery Hoop Message Board

My daughter is the kid who wants to keep everything. It might come in handy some day!! No idea where she gets her crafty hoarding tendencies... To help streamline the mess, I made her a message board from an embroidery hoop. It allows her to keep special mementoes from friends and random Pokemon cards.

Best of all, it was super easy to make! Sometimes fast crafts are the best!

If only the rest of her treasures were as easy to tame...
Gather your supplies. I love that crochet thread comes in so many fun colors!
Separate the hoop and tie one end of the string to inner embroidery hoop. A simple knot will be fine.
Replace the outer hoop and tighten it using the screw at the top.
Now, simply wrap the hoop with string, varying the direction and making sure that you cover most of the hoop with string.

I like how it kind of looks like a messy dream catcher.
When you've covered enough of the hoop, cut the string and tie it to the embroidery hoops.
The embroidery hoop message board can be hung using a small nail or a thumbtack. Then just insert the lovely mementoes into the string web.

Wouldn't an entire wall filled with these make a stunning display? You can customize yours by using your favorite color of string.

Then just insert the lovely mementoes into the string web. I'm sure that it's already filled with many more items that are too precious to part with.

This looks like a good way to hang some air plants in my dining room window. It won't get too cold there as the enclosed porch is on the outside of it. Have some smaller ones that would fit in the webs. Thanks for the inspiration.
