Kitchen Calendar / Command Center

I have vowed to get organized! Hopefully this kitchen calendar / mini-command center will help!
For this "organization station," I painted an old cork board and my husband mounted it beside the fridge with a chalkboard positioned below. Our son loves the chalkboard, he "writes" notes and grocery lists on it. Earlier today, he was wiping it off and said,"I need to move this chair so I can set my towel on it." Hmm, good idea, kid! During his nap, I sewed a button and piece of ribbon to a cloth napkin and screwed a teacup hook into the chalkboard frame. Voila, a place to set his towel!
The budget for this project was minimal. We already owned everything except the notepad, thumbtacks (which I spray painted gold, like-ya-do), and a package of wood buttons.
I'm hoping this family calendar situation will help us stay organized, fingers crossed!
