Repurposed Safety Deposit Box

On a trip to my favorite "junk" shop, I came across a stack of old safety deposit boxes. A sucker for nostalgia (and old metal), I picked a few up for a repurposing project.
My plan was pretty simple, I wanted to create an easy and quirky little message center that could double as a catch-all for keys or mail. A little chalkboard note never hurts either!
I taped off the outer edge of the inside of the box, and gave it a couple coats of spray-chalkboard paint.
That was really all it took! I left the remainder of the box the original brown color.


Its' a fun way to add some flowers or small storage for your home!
With just enough room for a little greeting or note to pick up milk.
The handy little ring on the bottom side is perfect for keys that like to wander...
